“Treatment without Borders” is a social project aimed at supporting Bulgarians in need of treatment abroad. In addition to giving advice for donor campaigns and funding your treatment, some of our volunteers would be able to help you with translation in the hospital or advice you about the city where the treatment will take place. We know that treatment abroad is accompanied by a lot of stress – from raising funds to the recovery process after the treatment itself. Contact us and we will do our best to help you.
“Treatment without Borders” was established in 2013 by a group of enthusiasts participating in the Incubator for Social Entrepreneurship of „Ideas for Bulgaria: Ideas Are Us“, and in April 2014 we received the first email from a family, which put their trust in us at a difficult time for them. Еver since, cases and patients that have been handled by our team has expanded greatly. So far, over 290 people have been contacted by us and our volunteer network has more than 280 people in 19 countries across Europe and North America. For these few years, in addition to expanding, we have succeeded in establishing ourselves as an official
Non-Governmental Organization; we translated a few information campaigns; we have also appeared several times on media and created many new friendships.
Over time, we have come to understand that knowing medical terms is far from being the most necessary thing we can do (there are professional translators for terms). Our role is primarily to support patients and their families before, during and after treatment and in the almost inevitable clash with bureaucracy.
